How heavy can my waste be?

Rubbish removal services are tailored towards lightweight bulky & green waste. When loading your waste, please consider the maximum waste capacity of the vehicle. The following weight capacity limits must be adhered to:

  • Half Load: 500kg Maximum Limit
  • Full Load: 1 Tonne Maximum Limit.

Please note: Our rubbish removal service is for lightweight bulky & green waste only. Inert Waste is too heavy for the capabilities of a van*. If you need to dispose of these waste streams, a skip is the best suited option.

*Some soil can be taken by our van collections as long as it is placed in secured bags. We can only take a maximum of four soil bags & they must not exceed the weight limit of the collection.

What vehicle will collect my waste?

Our registered suppliers have a range of vehicles suitable for our rubbish removal service, which consist of Sprinter vans, caged vans and Luton style vans. All the vehicles used are suitable for any load size, so the vehicle used doesn’t affect the cost of the service that you pay for.

In some instances your van may already contain waste. Please be assured that there will still be sufficient space for the load size you have requested.

Access to park and load

When booking a rubbish removal, please ensure that the vehicle has somewhere safe to park that is within a reasonable distance to where the waste will be loaded from. Our suppliers can park on the road without a permit, providing it will not block access, and there are no parking charges to do so.

Our service includes labour, in order for our driver to load your waste safely, please ensure there is clear access with no obstacles between the location of the waste and the vehicle. If our drivers are unable to park safely with clear access to your waste, it may result in a wasted journey charge.

If you need to make any changes to your order, please contact our team on contact@hireaskiponline.ie quoting your reference number.

If you wish to cancel your rubbish removal, you have up until 10am the day before your collection date booked.

In the event of any changes to your order, we will notify you via email and/or text.

What cannot go in our waste removal vans – further information:

Inert Waste (Bricks, Rubble, Concrete)*

Inert waste is waste which is neither chemically nor biologically reactive and will not decompose or only very slowly. Examples of this are sand and concrete.

Plasterboard

Unfortunately, we are unable to dispose of Plasterboards through any of our service offerings.

Gas Bottles & Cylinders

Although the components of gas bottles & cylinders are highly recyclable, the hazards associated with them prevent them from being able to be safely disposed of via our suppliers. This waste must be disposed of by a hazardous waste specialist.

Asbestos

Asbestos is classed as hazardous waste due to the risk associated to asbestos, it requires specialist handling and disposal. If you want to dispose of asbestos please seek guidance from a local specialist.

Batteries

Batteries are classed as Hazardous Waste. The type and quantity of battery that you wish to dispose of will dictate the necessary handling and disposal process, please obtain further guidance.

Clinical Waste

Clinical waste is always deemed hazardous due to the nature of what it contains. Clinical waste includes any waste associated with human/animal health or waste from laboratories.

Other Hazardous Waste (Paint Tins, Oils, Petrol, Diesel, Aerosols & Mastic Tubes)

Waste that is considered hazardous under environmental legislation containing substances potentially harmful to health are also prohibited from your skip. There is a variety of options available locally depending on the type of wastes you wish to dispose of.

Fridges, Freezers & Other Electrical Waste (Microwaves & TVs)

Should your waste item/s have a crossed out wheelie bin symbol, or in simple terms requires electricity to operate, please take to your household recycling centre and if you’re a business or other user (such as a school or hospital), please contact a specialist disposal company in the area.

Food or Food Contaminated Packaging

Food waste requires separate collection & treatment to prevent it from contaminating other, recyclable wastes. For this reason, we are unable to collect food or food contaminated packaging.

More than 1 Roll of Carpet

Most suppliers will accept 1x roll/room of carpet. If there are additional quantities of this waste type we must check with the supplier before booking. Additional charges may apply.
